Ordinary Fare

In ‘Ordinary Fare’,  I sought to capture the quiet moments that unfold in the neighborhoods of Santa Barbara, California during the last light of the day. This project is a reflection on the subtle beauty of the ordinary yet extraordinary scenes that emerge as the sun sets, the sky glows with a soft blanket of light, and the world takes on a different character.  

Through my evening walks I aimed to capture the unconscious energy of the community over a long period of time that expresses itself through the built environment. I wished to convey an appreciation for the fleeting moments of stillness in our fast-paced world, and embrace a specific quality of natural light that creates a sense of timelessness.
